Jack Gottlieb is an eco-friendly composer who does not own or drive a car. He lives in a spacious apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side, known as Zabar country, where within a walking five-block radius he can draw upon all essential services. His catalog includes works written for the concert hall, the theater and the synagogue. Movies, especially old black-and-white films, have been a muse for diverse works of his, both vocal and instrumental. He is the senior member of the Leonard Bernstein Office.
