About the Author

Mark Derby is a writer and historian who has worked for the Waitangi Tribunal and Te Ara, the online encyclopedia of New Zealand. His other books include Kiwi Companeros: New Zealand and the Spanish Civil War (recently republished in a Spanish translation) and The Prophet and the Policeman: The story of Rua Kenana and John Cullen (Craig Potton Publishing, 2009).
