About the Author

Christopher Makos is a world-renowned photographer known for his work in portraiture, whose work has been exhibited at galleries and museums worldwide, appeared in 15-authored books, and in magazines internationally. He apprenticed with photographer Man Ray in Paris and collaborated with Andy Warhol, whom he showed how to use his first camera. He introduced Warhol to the work of both Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. Makos' work has been in the permanent collections of more than 100 museums and major private collections, including those of Malcolm Forbes, Pedro Almodovar, and Gianni Versace. Just a few of his previous books include 'Exhibitionism', a collaboration on studies of the male nude with Calvin Klein, 'Equipose', unique portraiture of horses published by Glitterati in 2005, and the soon-to-be-released 'Warhol In Context', which visually chronicles Makos' unique access to this major artist during the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Paul Solberg was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and studied anthropology and photography in Cape Town, South Africa and Bophuthatswana. BLOOM, Paul's first published book, explores Flower as Object. Makos calls Solberg 'the most modern photographer in America.' Solberg's photographs have been published in 'Publisher's Weekly', 'Elle', 'Lucky', and 'Ocean Drive', along with European publications, 'Vanidad' and 'Alter Ego'. Paul's work has been shown at Ralph Pucci in New York, The Young Gallery in Brussels, Flo Peter's Gallery in Hamburg, Baudoin Lebon in Paris, ARCO in Madrid and Paris Photo. Solberg currently resides in New York City.
