Vladimir Tismaneanu is professor of politics and director of the Center for the Study of Post-Communist Societies at University of Maryland (College Park) and President of the Presidential Commission for the Analysis of the Communist Dictatorship in Romania.
The volume blazes fresh trails through exploring the intellectual developments that contributed to 1968 and how the landscape of ideas was transformed by the events of that year.
