A new translation of the final work of French philosopher Jean Cavaill s.
Jean Cavaill s (1903-1944) was a French logician and philosopher
who taught in Paris and Strasbourg. He was imprisoned as a member
of the French Resistance and was executed by the Gestapo on
February 17, 1944.
Georges Canguilhem is Professor Emeritus at the Sorbonne and former
director of the Institut d'Histoire des Sciences et des Techniques
de l'Universite de Paris. His works include La Connaissance de la
Vie, Ideology and Rationality in the History of the Life Sciences,
and The Normal and the Pathological.
Robin Mackay is a philosopher, Director of the UK arts organization
Urbanomic, and Associate Researcher at Goldsmiths University of
London.
