Gillian Shields studied English at Cambridge University, then trained as an actress, going on to teach drama. She has many children's books to her name, including Don't Let the Aliens Get My Marvellous Mum! and Tom's Tree, both published by Gullane Children's Books. She lives in East Sussex. Francesca Chessa studied architecture before becoming an illustrator. Her work has been exhibited worldwide, and has won her a special mention at the Bologna Bookfair. Her titles for Gullane Children's Books include Love-a-Duck, Baby Baby blah blah blah! and Holly's Red Boots, which she wrote and illustrated. She lives in Turin, Italy.
