Stuart Robson was born in Sydney but spent many years overseas, in
Holland, Indonesia and New Zealand. He taught Javanese at the
University of Leiden from 1977 to 1990 before returning to
Australia. He was Associate Professor of Indonesian at Monash
University from 1991 to 2001.
