About the Author

William Henry Hudson (1841–1922) was a naturalist, an ornithologist, and the author of such books asFar Away and Long Ago, The Purple Land, and A Shepherd’s Life. Born in Argentina, he settled in England in 1874 where he lived for the rest of his life.
