About the Author

A native of Alexandra, Virginia, John J. Russell has been a medical corpsman, history teacher, owner and operator of a chain of outdoor outfitter stores, and president of a directory publishing company. Thomas S. Spencer is a former lawyer who is currently working toward a degree in historic preservation at Goucher College. They both live in Washington, D.C.
