Kenneth Avery is a graduate of Sydney and Melbourne Universities, and a specialist in Sufi and Persian literature. His Ph.D. thesis was published in 2004 as: A Psychology of Early Sufi sama: Listening and Altered States (RoutledgeCurzon). He is a writer and teacher, and lives in rural Victoria, Australia.Ali Alizadeh holds a Ph.D. in Professional Writing from Deakin University, Melbourne, and teaches writing and literature at universities in Australia and Asia. His books of poetry include Eyes in Times of War and eliXir: a story in poetry. His translations of Persian poetry have been widely published.
