Hein G. Kiessling PhD is a political scientist and historian. While living in Pakistan in 19892002, including four years in Quetta and nine in Islamabad, he forged close contacts among Pakistan's political, military and intelligence elites. The Federal Republic of Germany awarded him the Order of Merit in 2002.
