Canada's Role in the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process Rex Brynen
Paul Heinbecker is Distinguished Research Fellow at the
Centre for International Governance Innovation and director of the
Laurier Centre for Global Relations, Governance, and Policy, both
located in Waterloo, Ontario. He was Canada's ambassador to the UN
from 2000 to 2003, where he supported creation of the International
Criminal Court and advocated compromise on Iraq. He has also worked
as chief foreign policy advisor to former Canadian prime minister
Brian Mulroney and as ambassador to Germany.
Bessma Momani is an associate professor at the University of
Waterloo and Senior Fellow at CIGI, specializing on the Middle East
and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She is the author of
Twentieth-Century World History (2007), IMF-Egyptian Negotiations
(2005), the CIGI-CIC Special Report: The Future of International
Monetary Fund: A Canadian Perspective (2009), and is the co-editor
of Canada and the Middle East (WLUP, 2007). Dr. Momani has also
published a dozen scholarly articles in numerous political and
economic academic journals.
