Alida Sewell was born in 1948. She migrated to New Zealand in 1961 and graduated B.A. from the University of Canterbury in 1971. In 2003 she graduated M.Th. With High Distinction from Trinity Bible College and Seminary and thereafter undertook doctoral studies at the VU University in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
