  • The Tango Saloon's avant-garde version of the Argentinean dance form is driven by a restless sense of experimentation, and built on a strong foundation of tradition and musical technique. "March of the Big Shoe" is a modernist piece for tuba, piano, and saxophone, while "Man With the Bongos" is a suspense soundtrack waiting for its movie. "Still I Cannot Do the Tango" is bossa nova for acoustic guitar and viola, and their moody cover of Astor Piazzolla's "Libertango" conjures Calexico's Southwestern textures.
