  • This double CD live package, recorded at shows in support of the Wildlife Conservation Society (which receives a portion of the royalties), could easily function as a Doobie's Greatest Hits album. The performances are slick yet spirited enough to supplant the studio originals. Energized by the presence of all three of the group's original lead singers--Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, and Michael McDonald--the group tears through their A-list material with blazing energy, and the audience eats up every note (check out the whoops that follow the harmonica solo in "Long Train Running"). This is a great intro to a critically underrated band.
