Suddenly, children who had not previously engaged with maths were
fully involved. They were laughing and enjoying their learning and
could comprehend by 'concretizing' the abstract concepts they
previously did not understand.

Maths Makes Sense has made an explicit difference to the
development of our children. Richard Dunne is fondly known as The
King of Cups at Cuckoo Hall and although MMS has been in the school
for under a year its impact has been pervasive and our early
results clearly show this. The support and training package we

Maths Makes Sense is an inspirational way of teaching maths.
Inspirational for so many reasons: the strong methodology which
ensures every child learns and understands maths; the high level of
training and practical support for teachers from the materials; the
way even very complex maths is made simple and effortless to
children - it has been one of the best decisions I ever made. It's
quite literally what the title says. It is a way of making complex
maths make sense. It is about high expectations and every child
being a successful mathematician. Following the training we now
know that 'complex' mathematical ideas can be made concrete and
understandable to very young children.
