I Am the Other is a welcome addition to cloning scholarship. It may skirt some issues or texts, but it also offers fresh readings of others that seem to have been critically flogged to death. Above all, it constitutes an extremely useful theoretical framework for future work with other literary texts in the field, including those omitted here. As such, the study will probably remain a standard reference work.
